Can somebody say what causes Vitamin B6 deficiency? What are the foods to be taken to overcome this deficiency?

Vitamin B-6 is a water soluble vitamin necessary for the maintenance of immune system, the nervous system, red blood cell metabolism and many more functions in the body. Heavy usage of alcohol is the leading cause vitamin B6 deficiency. Foods that helps to overcome this deficiency are

1. Bran (Rice and wheat)
2. Dried Herbs and spices
3. Pistachios
4. Garlic (Raw)
5. Sunflower and Sesame Seeds (Also Tahini)
6. Hazelnuts Or Filberts

Meat and fish
vegetables like Bell peppers, spinach, baked potatoes (skin included), green peas, yams, broccoli, asparagus and turnip greens.
Whole-wheat bread, cereals, bran and other wholegrains.
Chickpeas, lentils and soybeans.
Others are garlic, tuna, cauliflower, mustard greens, cabbage, crimini mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, kale, collard greens, Brussels sprouts, cod, chard, calf's liver, green beans, winter squash, tomatoes, turkey, salmon, and leeks.
